Pretty amazing so far. Looks so different, not sure if the weather/lighting effects are working perfectly yet. There are some biomes that are almost perpetually dark even during the day, and yet snowy areas at night are lit up like its daytime. May have to experiment with the graphics settings, as they were reset to minimum. Water isn't easy to find as there seems to be almost no rivers/lakes, which I didn't expect. I love how they've incorporated navezgame structures into the random game, but I've noticed some bugs. Saw a hardware store that seemed to have half spawned on top of one of the modern large posh residences from navez. All in all things just seem to work a little better, more realism with tool degradation, zombies seem easier to kill with the right weapons.

Yep, there are still some significant bugs in the game, either that or virtual poltergeists

Thanks for the update! I'm torturously forced to watch the forum while traveling and unable to play.

Maybe you'd like some details. Books and blueprints have changed a lot, more single blueprints of stuff and less books containing many recipes. Found the book "minibikes for dummies" last night, detailing how to construct each part, forks, frame etc, so I'm jazzed to try that out. Some new parts required like duct tape and scrap cable which are unsurprisingly found mostly in cars. The bears kick absolute butt, I've found the safest way to take one down in the early stages is to be crouched with a crossbow and get a few crits off. A standing face off will end with your death most of the time, unless you have heavier damage weapons, I doubt melee is an option. Its worth killing them though because they drop a lot of leather and the new bear meat. The crossbow aiming hasn't been attended to unfortunately, to get a head shot you now have to aim left and kind of up a bit, if you right click to zoom your target is almost completely obscured, hope they fix that. Its great how you can repair seemingly anything now, including mining helmets, who's light now attracts zombies though unfortunately. Lots of ppl getting killed by falling trees, once its cut run!! The topography has changed considerably, large bodies of water and rivers seem rare. There are stone outcroppings in certain biomes though that make great hiding spots at night, night is VERY dark. Love the new buildings brought in from navez to random gen, military bases everywhere. Looking forward to finding a desert junkyard. Lots more random buildings outside of towns in general. Safes locks now have to be broken in order to get into them, so bring a good pickaxe, stone axe not so good. Foods have been tweaked a bit, canned foods no longer as good for fullness, the multi ingredient stews are now the way to go. You do seem to increase health cap quicker though. Will post some more pics as interesting stuff presents itself.

Also the default loot respawn timer has jumped up from 7 days to 30 days. Any lower setting unfortunately puts the server on the modded list, which isn't really desirable. I've tweeted to get some sort of explanation from the devs, we'll see what happens.

Another big big bonus is that zermbers don't sprint now until the hours of midnight to 6am!

That's interesting...
My first thought is that tilts the advantage too much towards players. Before, with it being basically sun-down to sun-up, it was primarily upper-level players who moved at night.

I was thinking just that ... until last night. It was around 8pm game time when the pack of dogs turned up. About 15 of them. Seems they didn't want me to continue building at that time. It would seem that after 6pm you can still get these random night spawns to surprise you. Even at level 50 those dogs would have torn me to pieces. It adds a new element to the gameplay I think. Moving around before midnight "might" be safe ... but probably isn't.

I hadn't played A12, had to much stuff to do, but I thought seeing that I run a 7DTD server, I had better get some gameplay in. What can I say, it is just awesome. I am way behind the regular players, so I wont comment to much atm, except to reiterate, freakin awesome.
